Kick Ball and The Fighter

This morning continued to be a fun morning with most of our EMS calls coming from the exact same apartment building. Sleeping beauty was patient #1, and a few hours later we were back for patient #2 who decided he wasn't going to be very nice, and decided to get very combative with us on the way to the hospital. So we had have a little extra help in the back of the box to make sure that the patient didn't hurt himself of anyone else during the transport. That was pretty much the last call of the morning.

Then finally this afternoon the long awaited Vinton vs Read Mountain kick ball game took place, and just like predicted we dominated the entire game. Now, the Vinton kids are crying that it was not a win because the ball we were using was punctured and we didn't have a replacement, but I think they were just mad we scored 5 runs in one inning over them. It was a really really good time, and fun was had by everyone. Below is a photo.

After the game was over we all came back to the station and hung out and looked at some of the pictures from the game. Most everyone went home after the game was over, but a few of us stuck around and went out for dinner and had mexican food. We sit down and finally get our food when we get toned out for a call right across the street from our station. Mind you we are a good ways away at the mexican restaurant having our dinner, so we have to take the Wagon and try and make it back for this call. Lucky for us a few members came down to the station and were able to get a rescue unit rolling before we arrived. It was a quick on scene time for all the units involved, those of us on the Wagon cleared and went back home to finish eating our mexican food.

Well, of course not too much longer after we get back to the station and start eating our food we get toned out for a commercial fire alarm at a hotel on the Roanoke County side of things. We were disregarded to that call since it turned out to be nothing more then burnt pop corn in one of the rooms.

I got bored once we returned to the station so I decided I would take a quick trip over and visit my buddies at Vinton First Aid Crew. Took this quick video of them leaving out of their station on a call.

That's all for now, I might have some more tomorrow depending on how this night turns out.
